bizarrin'

my favorite tidbit from bizarro world in the old superman comics was a picture of a launchpad and a rocket on it blasting off... straight into the ground. i never understood what was opposite on bizarro world and what wasn't. it seems to use playground logic. clearly it's not all opposite, or everything would be dead.

san diego comic-con is coming in one week. in case you haven't seen the map:

halfpixel is creating a huge butt all over the con this year. and i'll have the chainsawsuit book on sale as well as starslip volume 2, and a new shirt! look for me at booth 2107. i'll also be signing copies of how to make webcomics at the image comics booth, 2729.

2107 is an easy number to remember. 21 is lucky. 0 is unlucky. 7 is lucky. i like to pretend brad is the 21, i'm the 7 and the 0 is dave. take that, kellett.

That's like on Seinfeld when he told Elaine about Bizarro Superman.

JERRY - Yeah. Like Bizarro Superman. Superman's exact opposite, who lives in the backwards bizarro world. Up is Down. Down is Up. He says "Hello" when he leaves, "Good bye" when he arrives.

ELAINE - [pause] Shouldn't he say "Bad bye"? Isn't that the, opposite of "Good bye"?

JERRY - No. It's still a good-bye.

ELAINE - Uh. Does he live underwater?

JERRY - No.

ELAINE - Is he black..

JERRY - Look. Just, forget it, {already}. All right?

Yeah, everything living is dead, but everything dead is living! So Bizzaro Superman dies all the time (because Superman never dies), but dying is living, so Bizzaro Superman is alive. But yeah, totally playground logic. That's what you get out of playground reading material.
