i know, i know

like everyone else i am a huge fan of perry bible fellowship, but sometimes it's like... don't hurt that innocent robot we met in the first panel

i know he is going to rust or blow up in the third panel, that's a given

let me pretend that he gets his day at the beach and just has a good time

Hey,

First off, I'm loving chainsawsuit.

It's probably more accessible for a lot of people than starslip (which I also <3), but when posting your blog entries here you can still speak in full sentences, with commas and all, you don't need to go flat out indie.

The Straubian machine may have many faces, but all of them ought to use some punctuation.

Anyhow, it's small quibble, keep up the good work.

I was going to leave a comment, but Boris summed it up pretty well.

STOP LAYING IT ON SO THICK.

Otherwise, it's a great strip, and I'm greatly enjoying it!

I don't know what you're talking about! I'm just writing in the same way I write text in the strip. I mean, I get what you're saying, but I didn't think I was stabbing anyone in the eye.

I actually didn't notice. I'm just that Indy, I guess.

I didn't notice until it was brought to my attention. Now I can't NOT notice.

Ryan North and a few other cartoonists do the same thing and it drives me insane. Its one thing reading Dinosaur Comics. Its another reading Ryan's blog and twitter feeds and having everything read like it was run through some kind of T-Rex filter.

It's weird, but lowercase without punctuation reads differently than proper grammar and stuff. It gives the posts a different feel, if you know what I'm saying. For example:

it's weird, but lowercase without punctuation reads differently than proper grammar and stuff

it gives the posts a different feel, if you know what i'm saying

it's subtle, and i kinda like it, but i can see how some people may find it annoying

I'm an English major, and I don't mind the indie-bloggiing. Kris, you just use as much or as little punctuation as you please, it's all good.

I like comics with robots, and it always saddens me when the robots get destroyed.

Karloff: NO! The Straub must indie. He must eschew the use of punctuation, upper-case characters, and at least two of the vowels on a rotating basis. Also, he must mention anti-depressants in the context of evil drug companies, or something.

eff those guys, writing with no caps rocks. it also gives the illusion that you don't care what other people think about what you write. thirdly, writing like this is the bane of all grammar nazis, because if they point out a grammar error you can just be like, "bitch are you serious? i dont even use caps."

I'm a big fan of PBF too and this totally made me burst out laughing. Great strip.

Chris, I know your doing this strip as a kind of mockery of poorly drawn strips but I like it more than starslip ... I agree with the other guy, it's does seem your a bit jealous of pbf. Just do what you do and don't worry about other people, trust me.

But I'm not. It used to be called "Indie Comic" and THEN it was a mockery. But I did enough of them where I felt like there was a rhythm I enjoyed, so I changed the name (because I felt it was too insulting and just made fun of, while it wasn't its own thing).

I don't know why parody is always perceived as ruthless assault.

But wasn't the title of chapter five of How to Make Webcomics titled "Parody = Ruthless Assault"?

Haven't you done this before? Perhaps in a blogpost or summat. I can't help but think I've seen PBF spoofed like this somewhere recently.

Still funny, though.

Re: punctuation - Ben Goldacre does the same when he replies on badscience.net, but only rarely in the posts themselves. I'd just assumed that he was doing it on the go from a mobile device, but now I don't know. I'm not gonna get up in arms about it. As long as spelling and grammar are up to par. Not that I don't prefer to have the punctuation, but I'm not gonna tell anyone how to write.

This comic is especially funny when it's viewed next to the two after it in the archive. Seriously, you're making fun of Gurewitch for something that's exactly the same as what you're doing, but with better art and timing.
